PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of Wapi-Penace School is based on the individual needs of each child. It will provide the child with a simulating and supportive environment. This environment is designed to motivate the child to develop and widen his or her individual mental and physical capabilities. Children are seen as active explorers in their environments and are encouraged to select from it, therefore play is a big part in programming. With the help of staff, children will explore and investigate their surroundings.

Wapi-Penace School will establish, maintain, and encourage open and honest discussions between staff and parents to ensure the needs of each child and it's family are met.

Goals:

Each child will be able to:
develop independence and increase self esteem
learn to respect themselves and others
develop unique individuality
develop awareness of their native heritage

Each parent will:
gain appreciation for the school system
be involved in Wapi-Penace School
share information and ideas of child's life

Each staff will:
work as a team with parents to create an atmosthere that is safe, secure fun, educational and traditional for each child to develop to their fullest potential.
